16oz.ham 1 1/2-2T.gherkin pickles, chopped into small chunks 2-3 T. mayonnaise 1 tsp. yellow mustard 1/4-1/2tsp. salt 1/4-1/2tsp. ground black pepper *1 T. celery, chopped into small chunks, *Optional, not in original recipe

Mom use to make these all the time with the left over ham from the “canned ham with a key” that people use to buy in the 1960’s.
This is the actual original recipe. My delusional brother Kevin thinks she used dill pickles…he remembers wrong. With that being said, it also tastes great when you use dill pickles instead of the gherkins.
DIRECTIONS
Chop ham and pickles into very small pieces. Mix with rest of ingredients and blend thoroughly. Serve on crackers or bread.
Can also be served after chilling for at least 30 minutes.
