Blend cream cheese, butter, salt, pepper and milk. Fold in chicken. separate crescent rolls into 4 rectangles. Spoon 1/2 cup or so of meat mixture on roll and fold up into smaller square(ish) packages. Brush with butter and sprinkle with bread crumbs.
Bake on non-greased baking sheet (or slightly greased square glass casserole dish) for 35-50 minutes at 350 degrees, until top is golden.
Serve plain or with chicken gravy.
These freeze well.
